I own a national technical and executive recruitment firm—that has just gone from a main central office—to home offices—for my trusty band of employees and me. We have signed up with a complete virtual network provider in our area—that has co-hosted our LINUX database server in their offices—provides all firewall protection and a network through DSL to all of each of our home offices for internet data access as well as voice. We chose the ShoreTel 212k phone because that is the phone manufacturing company this network provider has “partnered” with.

What I would greatly appreciate is 5 to 10 minutes of time from another busy recruitment owner who has gone this route with his employees and has been using the ShoreTel 212k phone for at least 6 months to 1 year in their operation.

With all the different features on this IP phone plus the fact that we use our 2 to 3 monitors to project our different industry databases so we can refer to specific details of history and connective consulting benefits to clients while on the phone—we do not want to use our screens for phone call monitoring duty.

Maybe it will change as us recruitment dinosaurs evolve with the technology—at this time it is preferred to use the ShoreTel 212k phone to handle all call transfer/exchange/hold. Again if your company has used the ShoreTel 212k for a while, I would like to discuss the trade-offs in features regarding transferring—whether they are incoming, interoffice or multiple customers on-hold.

Sorry for the lengthy request but I promise to reciprocate with a couple of ‘pearls of wisdom’ regarding my strategy in this down economy in enhancing recruitment results.

Thank you in advance for your response.

I have joined the land of the (technological) living and started a Blog! Please check it out (and follow it), as your thoughts and feedback are greatly valued. I am using it as a value-added service to candidates and clients alike, as well as a platform to market our firm better. Thanks! www.ESandP.blogspot.com

Yes, TMP has been active in SL since last year. My firm launched our SL location at about the same time they announced theirs. Quite and interesting medium if done right.
